Only minutes from metro Halifax/Dartmouth, Laurie Provincial Park is the perfect escape from the urban rush, yet the park is close enough for day trips in to visit the many attractions found in the metro area. The quiet lakeside setting offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, canoeing, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming.

Laurie Provincial Park is open from June 19 until September 14 (for the 2009 season). The park has 71 woodland campsites, a large picnic area, and trailer dump station. There is a small unsupervised beach on Shubenacadie-Grand Lake. Oakfield Provincial Park, just a few kilometers north, offers a large open picnic area, boat launch and beautiful sand beach ideal for family swimming.
Camping reservations can be made beginning April 2, 2009.
