Jutting out into the famous Mira River and only minutes from Sydney or Fortress Louisbourg National Historic site, Mira River is the perfect escape. It is close enough for day trips into the city or the many attractions found in the area.
The quiet water-side setting offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, walking, boating, canoeing, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming.
Mira River Provincial Park is open from June 12 until September 14 (for the 2009 season). The park has 148 woodland and open campsites, a picnic area, boat launch, and trailer dump station. The large unsupervised beach is ideal for families to play.
Athough there are no electrical hookups, water and vault toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground. Accessible flush toilets and showersare also available.
Campingreservations can be made beginning April 2, 2009. See Reservations for details and conditions.
