Park Info: Just across the harbour from the historic town of Shelburne, The Islands Provincial Park offers a restful stop on your trip around the South Shore. Bounded by Shelburne Harbour, it offers visitors a maritime camping experience. Shelburne's many museums, shops, and picturesque charm continue to attract thousands of international visitors each year.
Facilities and Services
The Islands offers a 70-site campground, water outlets, two picnic areas, an unsupervised beach, boat launch, and trailer dump station.
WiFi is available at the admin building and surrounding area. Password required, please see the park receptionist.

July 20, 2013 Scavenger hunt for children followed by a washer tournament for adults and a free barbecue for all participants. Scavenger hunt starts at 10 AM. Barbecue will be at noon and the washer tournament starts at 1 PM. Please note that there will be a $2 registration fee for the washer toss tournament. Meet at the park office. Dress for weather conditions and bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Sponsored by the NS Department of Natural Resources. August 16, 2013 Friday August 16 - Sunday August 18 Various Times throughout the weekend The second Annual Shelburne Kayak Festival will be a weekend full of fun events on the water and on land. The Festival will include workshops, kayaking instruction, displays, social events, campfires, kayaking on the harbour, tours and more. If you want to take part in the clinics, workshops and/or guided tours you are required to bring a kayak with you. There will be limited kayaks on site; most will be used to demo and for people to try out in our "open water sessions."If you don't have a boat, or don't want to bring your own, please reserve your kayak rental early! See website for rental info. Please bring clothing appropriate for kayaking as well as a change of clothes. August 16, 2013 Come out and experience the park at night! We will be playing games and having fun in the dark including a campfire, stories, jokes, and s'mores. Suitable for ages 7 years and up. Dress to be active and for weather conditions. Bring sturdy footwear for running, jumping and something that can get wet, no flip flops or sandals please. Pre-registration required. Meet at the large fire pit by the entrance to the park. Please note that there is a registration fee of $8 each or $12 per family. August 17, 2013 Come out and try kayaking at The Islands Provincial Park as a part of the Shelburne Kayak Festival. Come dressed to be active and wear footwear and clothing that can get wet. Bring hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, water and snacks. Meet at the boat ramp in the park. This event is free however donations to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program will be accepted.
